Lawn Care – Machines You Use

Posted on: October 19, 2011

Lawn care involves three things: you, the season or the weather, and your tools. Some lawn owners don't really buy the idea of having some tools. Others don't even recognize that they are using these tools. Tools include your rubber gloves and your trowel. Machines are also considered tools too. Some machines are big while others are small. Whatever the size is, they serve a function in your lawn care. You might want to get to know your machine better.

Weed trimmers go well with lawn mowers. Lawn mower cut the grass on the surface while the weed trimmer weeds the areas where the lawn mower cannot anymore reach. Weed trimmers are usually used after the lawn mower. Lawn mowers are also bigger than weed trimmers. These lawn care equipment are sometimes interchanged by some users because of their basic function. However, this is the analogy, mowers work best for grass and trimmers work best for weeds. They go great together for lawn care.

Visually, the hedge trimmer is similar to the chain saw except for their size. The hedge trimmer is generally smaller than the chainsaw. They also have similar uses just like the lawn mower and the weed trimmer. Hedge trimmer is used to trim shrubs and hedges. Its function is already written on its name. It is usually used by having the blades vertically aligned and is glided along the sides of the hedge or the shrub. On the other hand, the chainsaw is used to cut and trim trees and shrubs. It is usually used by having the blades align horizontally. These two are basically used in lawn care for trimming.

Edgers are used to trim the grass on the edges of your lawns. They are used on the of the sidewalk so that people will not walk on your growing grass, on the fence so that it will look neat in keeping the grass in the fence, and even near the area where you plant your flowers so that the grass and the flowers will not take the space of the other. This is very important if you have neighbors who are particular with regards to the grass growing away from your lawn. They not only help in maintaining the shape and neatness of your lawn but also help you in promoting safety for the side way. Grass straying on the sidewalk can cause a slippery path and so others might slip thus resulting to injury.

Getting to know your machine better helps you to care more effectively for your lawns. Using your machine once in a while for your lawn care routine will not hurt. It is actually useful since it helps you get the job done. Once you are done using your machine, always remember to clean it so that it will still be functional the next time you use it. You don't trim or mow or edge your lawn every day. These tools will be not used for a couple of days after using them – no unless if you are a gardener or and you bring you stuff to work.
